About gitexplorer.com

gitexplorer.com helps people choose the right Git command for the change they need. The command explorer starts from the task and the repository’s state, then shows the command, what it changes, how to check the result and how far it can be undone. The guides walk through complete examples, and each page says exactly what was run and what was not.

Examples that actually ran

Every printed example ran in a fresh, fictional repository on a pinned Git release, currently Git 2.56.0, and the scripts and run records are published with the state matrix. The explorer and guides never read your repository, run commands for you or upload anything.

Independent and new

This is a new publication under new ownership. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or a continuation of any earlier project, tool or operator at this domain, and nothing published here before 2026 is republished. No earlier code, command data, interface, text or branding is used.

How pages are made

Pages are written by AI systems working from the official Git documentation for the pinned release and from our own recorded runs, and checked against those sources before publication. The publisher directs the work and is responsible for every page. Independent review by a named Git educator and version-control engineer is being added. The methodology and editorial policy set out the rules.

Code, data and sponsors

The explorer and example scripts are original and MIT licensed, and our observations are licensed under CC BY 4.0. Some pages may carry a clearly labelled sponsor module after the main content; sponsors never affect which commands are recommended, what a guide says or any recorded result. See disclosure.
